Hi! I'm Rory - the hands behind Konara Jewellery. Read on below to find out more about myself and the inspiration behind Konara.

The Art

My interest in metal-smithing started in high school, where I took classes for a few years. I never really considered it as a career pathway, and went on to complete a masters of mechanical engineering, which I finished last year.

In 2023, my girlfriend Tayler booked in for us to do a ring making class in Bali which reignited my passion for metalsmithing - but more generally, creating. When we returned home, I completed a short 6 week tafe course which I loved - and ultimately decided to buy my own equipment.

The Inspiration

As with many Runescape fans, it's been a part of my life since I was a kid. When I've taken breaks, I've always continued watching along on youtube, and... well I've always come back.

After seeing lots of OSRS art being sold on etsy, it sparked an idea to create a sterling silver rune pendant. I learnt to design in CAD and started having so many other ideas flowing that I had to create. I've always wanted to start a business, and so naturally, Konara was born.

The Vision

My ultimate vision of Konara is to create thoughtful, premium pieces that are a subtle nod to the game so many of us love.

I’ve enjoyed every second of building this brand - from the design process of each piece, to the sanding and polishing, the branding and everything in between. I have spent every waking moment over the last year and a half thinking about Konara and have poured my heart and soul into this project.

I’ve got so many more cool ideas I want to bring to life - this is just the beginning.
